Hay, Deniliquin: Drugs, weapons uncovered in six drug raids

Drugs and weapons have allegedly been uncovered following six drug raids in Hay and Deniliquin.

Police have arrested and charged two women over alleged drug supply following six raids on properties in Hay and Deniliquin.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District established Strike Force Caroline to investigate the supply of cannabis and methylamphetamine in March.

As part of investigations, Murrumbidgee Police District – with help from the Southern Region Operational Support Group, and Murray River Police District – executed the search warrants at five properties in Hay and one at Deniliquin.

Police allegedly seized cannabis, cannabis plants, methylamphetamine, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia.

They also allegedly located weapons, including an electronic stun device, and ammunition.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested at a property on Park St, Hay, and taken to Hay Police Station, where she was charged with supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis.

She has been granted strict conditional bail conditions to appear at Hay Local Court on Monday July 5, 2021.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested at a property on Old Racecourse Rd, Deniliquin, and taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where she was charged with supplying a prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited drug.

She was refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday.

Investigations are ongoing.
