Deniliquin police arrested two men and allegedly seized drugs, weapons, cash

Drugs, cash, weapons and ammunition were seized and two men arrested and charged after strike force police raided properties in Deniliquin yesterday.

Murry River detectives, who are part of Strike Force Collett investigating methamphetamine supply in Victoria’s south west, searched three houses in the area on October 21.

Detectives, who were supported by the South East enforcement squad and dog unit, arrested a 25-year-old man at a Deniliquin property at 7.30am.

A short time later a 29-year-old man was arrested at a second Deniliquin property.

Search warrants were executed at the homes of the two men, a storage container and a third home in Deniliquin.

Officers allegedly located and seized 43.6g of MDMA, 30.5g of methamphetamine, 192.5g of cannabis, two cannabis plants, more than $15,000 cash, two electronic stun devices, three gel blaster rifles and ammunition, along with a mobility scooter and a number of household items and power tools suspected of being stolen.

The pair were taken to Deniliquin police station where the 25-year-old man was charged with supplying prohibited drugs, a police pursuit, dealing with property proceeds of crime, supplying prohibited drug in an indictable quantity, and organising or assisting with a drug premises.

The 29-year-old man was charged with supplying prohibited drugs supply prohibited drug, manufacturing prohibited drugs, possessing or using a prohibited weapon without permit, possessing an unauthorised firearm, possessing prohibited drugs, and dealing with property proceeds of crime

Investigations are continuing.
