Albury aged care facility exits lockdown after Covid outbreak

A man in his 70s is the tenth resident to have died as a result of a Covid outbreak at an Albury aged care home.

NSW records 286 new local COVID cases and two further deaths

A man in his 70s is the tenth resident to have died as a result of a Covid outbreak at Mercy Place Albury aged care home.

Authorities confirmed the man died from Covid late Sunday night.

The elderly man had received one dose of the Covid vaccination but had underlying health conditions.

It comes after the facility ended its 30-day lockdown on Sunday night.

Mercy Place Albury entered a two-week surveillance period as of Sunday night, which means residents can move freely within the facility but visitors are not allowed.

The aged care home is expected to welcome visitors from Saturday 20 November.

Albury Wodonga recorded zero cases on Monday but there are still 234 active cases within the region.

Of these, eight are in hospital and one is in ICU.

Albury was locked down in September after a Covid-positive man was uncooperative with authorities.
