A popular Gold Coast influencer has detailed how she suffered major complications including “vomiting blood and being paralysed for 24 hours” after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery.
With over 2 million followers on TikTok, Kayla Jade has garnered a huge fanbase through a series of both candid and unfiltered confessional videos about working in the adult industry.
In a video uploaded to TikTok on Thursday, Kayla cautioned young people against impulsively undergoing plastic surgery after revealing she once flew to Turkey to get a BBL.
“I definitely rushed into it without thinking of the complications the surgery may have had,” she said.
“I’m all about doing what makes you feel good but I kind of wish I knew what I knew now before I got my BBLs.”
She now says she regrets undergoing the procedure, but affordability played a major factor in why she chose to go to Turkey.
“I found a place, we were talking on WhatsApp, the reviews looked really good. Before and after photos looked incredible in the consult. You send photos of yourself and the doctor was like, yes, you’re a great candidate for a BBL,” she explained.
“I decided to go with them, paid my deposit, and off I went. It was one of those package deal places where you get like flights, accommodation, everything included.”
Kayla went to the clinic for her consultation shortly after landing in Turkey, however she was instructed to meet her surgeon at a nearby hospital instead.
“You have to hand over your passport and your remaining money, which I knew was going to happen,” she said.
“We’re trying to find the doctor and we cannot find him anywhere. I start to panic because I don’t know what’s going on. (The driver) says we have to go back to the clinic so we drive all the way back to the clinic and see this doctor.
“He immediately looks at my body and is like, ‘We won’t be able to give you the result you want. You do not have enough fat for a BBL’.
“I 100 per cent had enough fat for a BBL. I had been purposely gaining weight for the BBL.
“He was like trying to lower my expectations because he knew he was going to cheap out.”
Despite her disappointment in her surgeon’s assessment, Kayla remained hopeful the procedure would be successful.
“Surgery day. I get marked up. I’m on the operating table. I go into surgery and it’s literally everyone’s worst nightmare that happened to me,” she said.
“I could feel everything. I could feel the fat getting sucked out of me but it was a horrific experience. It felt like burning. I remember I could hear nurses and doctors talking and I couldn’t move my body. I was paralysed but I could feel tears running down my face because I was in so much pain.
“I woke up and my body was in absolute shock. I was in excruciating pain. I was vomiting blood. I was fading in and out of consciousness. I couldn’t really remember what was going on.”
The influencer said she was unable to move for over 24 hours after undergoing the surgery.
“I was just laying in bed trying to sleep. Trying to stay alive. They immediately start trying to kick me out while I’m still in this state,” she said.
“They get me up to start walking again and I’m collapsing. I have no strength. I cannot get up. I cannot walk. I was literally begging them to let me stay another night.
“I went through all of this … they botched it completely.”
She urged young people to seriously consider the potential complications plastic surgery may have.
“Maybe me sharing what happened might make some young person think twice about getting it done or research more before they make these life changing decisions. Maybe it will reach someone who is contemplating getting plastic surgery,” she said.
