New Real Housewives of Melbourne star Simone Elliott has declared she’ll bring the glamour and style as the voice of reason this series.
The Toorak businesswoman and mum of two steps in to fill the void left by departing originals Gina Liano and Lydia Schiavello.
“It’s a shame I didn’t get to meet Gina, she was strong and had an opinion but she was able to articulate it in a way that made sense,’’ Elliott, 41, said.
“I’m a bit more considered when I speak and I will probably be more a voice of reason as opposed to being the one creating drama.
“Aside from that I will bring the glamour and the style. I’ve got a glam squad and I’ll be dialling up the looks this season and will work with Australian designers.”
Elliott, who has gone through a recent break up, started filming last week along with Janet Roach, Gamble Breaux, Jackie Gillies and three other new faces, Kyla Kirkpatrick, Cherry Dipietrantonio and Anjali Rao.
“I’m an educated, respectful and modern mother and I manage big multi million dollar accounts in business,’’ Elliott said.
“I’m also a trained negotiator so I know how to get people on my side.”
Liano’s decision to quit the show was somewhat of a surprise, with Foxtel’s Brian Walsh saying the barrister reassessed her life through COVID last year.
“It gave her an opportunity to re-evaluate and rediscover her love of practising law and she conducted a lot of her business virtually last year and she rekindled that great deep affection she has for her profession,’’ he said.
“She moved from central Melbourne to Sorrento and really began a new life.
“She said to me you know what Brian, I love the Real Housewives and I had so much fun on the show but I love work more.
“I love what I do in my professional life and this journey for me is important. I just don’t feel I’m right to come back to the show and want to put all my focus and energy into law.”
