Disgraced former footy agent Ricky Nixon and controversial ex AFL star Wayne Carey may have drowned their sorrows together after Christmas.

Disgraced former footy agent Ricky “Chicken” Nixon reportedly tried to team up with controversial former AFL star Wayne Carey for post-Christmas drinks but may have been left drowning his sorrows alone.
Nixon posted a photo of himself on Instagram this week with Carey and mate John Begley, claiming to be waiting on their arrival for drinks at “the chicken pad” in Melbourne.
“If anyone knows where John Begley and DuckStar (Carey) are let me know,” he said in his post, liked and commented on by another former AFL identity, Warwick Capper.
Asked if Carey, who is nicknamed “The King” or “Duck” was doing OK, Nixon replied the former North Melbourne champ was “doing very well”.
It is not clear whether the drinks actually eventuated, or Nixon was left friendless and drinking alone.
Seemingly not content with one spot of name dropping in his post, Nixon proceeded to mention a planned outing with his friends AFL legend Sam Newman and former lead singer of 1980s band Uncanny X-Men Brian Mannix in January.
And just days before Christmas Nixon posted a gushing birthday message to Newman, with numerous photos, declaring he loved him “to the moon and back 6.7 million times” and calling the former Geelong great “one of the greatest on earth”.
“Always there for him when I needed him, ALWAYS,” Nixon wrote.
In the lead up to Christmas last year Newman hosted Nixon, Mannix and Capper among others on his 66-foot yacht, resulting in injuries to Mannix on the rough seas.
Carey has been in the media spotlight this year after claiming a white bag, which slipped out of his pocket onto a gaming table at a Perth casino was crushed anti-inflammatories.
Western Australian police determined not to lay criminal charges over the incident and he has since returned to the casino.
