Victorian Bachelor couple Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod have stunned fans, announcing their split less than two months after the dramatic series finale.

Victorian astrophysicist Bachelor Matt Agnew and his chemical engineer partner Chelsie McLeod have split, with McLeod revealing the couple “are no longer together”.
When the self-proclaimed nerds met, Chelsie presented Agnew with a red box containing the chemical structure Oxytocin — the love chemical.
McLeod was revealed as the winner on September 19.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday afternoon, McLeod revealed the bombshell split.
“It saddens me to say that we are no longer together,” she told her 213,000 followers.
“Thank you so much to everyone for your support and kind words over what was an incredibly exciting, rewarding, challenging, and emotional journey. Your words have not gone unnoticed,” she said.
McLeod only had praise for Agnew.
“Matt showed me what it was like to be respected in a relationship and I am so thankful for that.”
“I wish him nothing but the best. I’m sorry to those that were invested in our relationship.”
She also made a request for people to not to get personal about the split on social media.
“Please remember to be kind online as you don’t know what is going on behind the screen. All my love.”
Agnew also posted about the split, saying “these past six months filming have been a very unique experience”.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I write this. For Chels and me, our relationship hasn’t translated from filming to the real, everyday world as we had hoped.”
“Chels and I have made some beautiful memories together that I’ll always cherish, I wish her nothing but the absolute best.”
“Chels is a very special woman and I want her to find the happiness she deserves.”

Agnew also shut the door on any rumours of another partner.
“For those who may wonder if there’s someone else for me right now, there absolutely is not.”
“It’s no one’s fault, it’s just life.”
Social media lit up with the news with 12,700 people liking McLeod’s post within 40 minutes of being posted.
Runner-up Abbie Chatfield deflected social media comments that “now is your chance”.
“Haha my chance was on that rock in Africa me thinks,” she wrote, referring to the location she was dumped on the final episode.
