The former Neighbours star held a party for the convicted felon that raked in $US2 million ($3million) for the Republican presidential hopeful’s 2024 White House campaign.

As the panel discussed their thoughts on Valance’s decision to ditch acting in favour of supporting right-wing politicians, Project star Sam Taunton made an “alt-right” joke about he former Neighbours star.

“I’m not surprised by this, you’re a product of your environment growing up. I always thought that Ramsay Street had a bit of an alt-right edge to it,” teased Taunton.

“We don’t know what Susan Kennedy was teaching in the school, nothing would surprise me!”

When quizzed about why Valance has appeared to be growing in popularity in the UK, journalist Latika Bourke said that the former actress has a way of talking that appeals to Brits.

“She’s very articulate,” she commented. “She’s a straight talking Aussie, and let me tell you, in Britain, straight talking Aussies go down really well.”

Valance largely retired from the entertainment industry after she married billionaire property developer Nick Candy in 2012, and has since gone on to spark controversy with her right-wing views and support of politicians such as Nigel Farage. Valance previously described herself as a “paid-up member” of Farage’s Reform party, which was founded in 2018 and operates with the Trump-esque slogan “Make Britain Great”.

“We want our country back!” trumpets one of the anti-immigration party’s slogans. The now-retired performer first went public with her conservative political views earlier this year in an interview with GB News.

“I would say that everyone starts off as a leftie, then wakes up at some point, after you start either making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home, and then you realise what crap ideas they all are,” Valance said. “And then you go to the right.”
