THE Footy Show is on the ropes after The Front Bar annihilated the struggling program last night. Channel 7’s answer to the one-time dominant show is now pulling in twice the audience.

THE Footy Show is on the ropes after getting smashed by The Front Bar last night.
The Front Bar, with Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang hosting, averaged 274,000 viewers in Melbourne.
That was nearly double the 139,000 for The Footy Show, with Eddie McGuire and Sam Newman.

The Front Bar also had an easy win over The Footy Show in Adelaide (44,000 to 28,000) but the result was closer in Perth (37,000 to 36,000).
The widening gap between the two shows would have to be a massive concern for Nine management.
While Nine insiders insist The Footy Show will return in 2019, viewers should expect changes.
The Footy Show got a makeover during the summer with the high-profile signings of Brendan Fevola, Dane Swan and Chris Judd.
Rumours have built in recent weeks that Rebecca Maddern, on maternity leave, won’t be returning.
Nine will be hoping that audiences will be up for next week’s edition of The Footy Show which features the annual My Room Telethon.
About 35 AFL players including Max Gawn and Luke Hodge, and a range of celebrities, will be out to raise funds to aid research into childhood cancer.
Last night’s edition of The Footy Show featured an interview with Richmond champion Alex Rance and panellists Darcy Vescio from Carlton AFLW and Hawthorn vice-captain Isaac Smith.
The Front Bar’s guests were former champions Simon Black, Bob Murphy and Luke Darcy.
