I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! Australia has always been a big payday for the stars taking part, but this time around 10 have reportedly managed to spend less than usual.
In the past, some jungle campmates have walked away with hundreds of thousands of dollars, some even bagging millions for a couple of weeks of gruelling camp life.
This year, not all the stars are making six figures, according to reports.
Dave Hughes is believed to be the biggest earner, with 10 paying the star a handsome $250,000, according to Yahoo Lifestyle.
The rest of the stars are reported to be earning anywhere between $35,000 and $175,000 to take part in the competition.
Matty ‘J’ Johnson, Sam Thaiday and Shayna Jack are the next highest paid after radio host Hughes.
It’s believed they will be walking home with between $100,00 and $175,000 for their time in the jungle, as well as an extra $5k for every extra day they manage to stay in the show.
Not bad for a couple of week’s pay, is it!
Despite not being well known in Australia, TikTok star Max Belegde is thought to be earning the same as Australian Big Brother winner, Reggie Sorenson, with both walking away with $100,000.
Finally MAFS star Samantha Moitzi and Love Island’s Tina Provis are walking away with the smallest amounts, taking home somewhere between $35,000 and $60,000.
It comes after Sorenson opened up about scammed out of tens of thousands of dollars by a scammer masquerading as a TV producer.
During a one-on-one chat with presenter Matty Johnson, Sorenson shared a heartbreaking story about how she was fooled into making a fake TV pilot.
After the Queensland mum-of-two won Big Brother for the second time in 2022, pocketing $250,000 in the process, she relocated to Sydney in a bid to further her career.
“I had this guy he made out he was a TV producer. We shot a TV pilot and I thought it was going to be this travel show thing,” shared Sorenson. “But it was all bulls**t.”
Tragically, nothing came of the pilot, and the producer turned out to be a scam artist, leaving her without a TV show and tens of thousands of dollars poorer.
“He ripped me off $40,000. I find it hard to trust people now,” continued the reality star. “People take advantage of you. I’m a very trusting person.”
