My Kitchen Rules sisters Emma and Jess can’t stomach braised baby goat

IT’S safe to say that if you’re taking part in Aussie TV’s biggest cooking competition, you have to be at least be brave enough to sample the food.
Not so for My Kitchen Rules contestants Emma and Jess, who caused a stir on the debut episode of the Seven show’s ninth season.
And the reason for their conundrum? It was all to do with a baby goat and a hatred of peas.
Hunky brothers Josh and Nic were the first cabs off the rank, cooking up an Italian feast in their Instant Restaurant for their fellow contestants as well as MKR judges Manu Feidel and Pete Evans.
Emma was clearly impressed. “They’re going to blow my socks off with their spice,” she said, before dissolving into fits of giggles.
But the main dish — braised baby goat with tomato and peas — left Emma and her sister Jess feeling anxious.
“Jessica just fell in love with a baby goat yesterday, so I don’t think she’s going to enjoy the main,” Emma told her bemused fellow contestants.
Jessica then went to helpfully explain: “I took my son to an animal farm yesterday and I fell in love with a baby goat.
“I think it’s a goat, it might have been a lamb, but I’m pretty sure it was a goat. Now I fear that I’m eating it for dinner.”
Back to Emma, who said she would “like to throw a massive spanner in the works”.
“Even though I’m not happy about the goat, I hate peas,” she said.
When the main course was finally served, Emma appeared unable to contemplate taking a bite, pushing the tasty-looking meal around her plate.
She whispered to her sister: “I can’t get away from the peas or the goat.”
It wouldn’t be My Kitchen Rules without the requisite simmering tension between contestants.
And if the massive daggers being shot by friends Roula and Rachel at Emma and Jess are anything to go by, it’s going to be a rocky road to the finale.
Roula herself caused a stir with viewers with her admission that she hated fried food.
Emma’s reluctance to let one morsel of the food pass her plump lips left MKR viewers less than impressed.

Why would a fussy eater enter a cooking competition? It defies logic. #mkr

I hope thereâs a new rule banning them from voting if they refuse to eat the food? #MKR

Then what the hell are you doing on a cooking show #mkr
#MKR Omg once again, another season of strategic scoring and contestants knowing more than the judges. Can't wait to see the rest of it.
