The 2024 coaching line-up on The Voice Australia has been announced – and fans have given the new panel the thumbs up.
The Seven Network today revealed that LeAnn Rimes will take a seat on the iconic red chairs on the new season of the singing competition, alongside returning coach Guy Sebastian.
“I am incredibly honoured and excited to embrace the opportunity of coaching on The Voice,” Rimes, a multi-platinum-selling artist with hits like How Do I Live and Can’t Fight the Moonlight, said in a statement.
“This special chance to mentor and discover new voices throughout Australia is a reflection of the love and support I’ve received from my Australian fans throughout my career. I look forward to returning the love, sharing my experiences, and hearing fresh, promising talent.”
Many fans are already cheering for #TeamLeAnn, flooding social media with their tick of approval.
“I’m absolutely Team @leannrimes,” wrote one, while another gushed: “YES!!! Soooo excited for Leann Rimes!!”
Two other coaching newcomers are set to join the show: Grammy-nominee Adam Lambert and beloved Aussie singer Kate Miller-Heidke.
“I am thrilled to be joining the panel of The Voice this season. I have such great memories in Australia and can’t wait to spend some time down under!” said Lambert, who was a runner-up on American Idol in 2009 before soaring to success.
“Australia has contributed some iconic talents and artists to pop culture, it’ll be fun to coach the next generation of talent. You can expect some killer song selections, fashion fashion fashion, and of course, a win for Team Adam!”
And fans cannot wait to see him in action.
“OMG, I adore Adam Lambert! I don’t usually watch #TheVoice but I’m only here because of him, cannot wait for this,” commented one, while another wrote: “Fantastic line-up of judges. Adore Adam, well chosen.”
Beloved Aussie singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke has also been confirmed on the panel.
“I am so excited to be joining The Voice, and to sit on the panel alongside these incredible singers,” she said. “The art and craft of singing has been at the centre of my life and I feel like I have learned some things that might be of help to young or inexperienced performers.”
“I’ll be looking for people with the soul of an artist; people with something to say; who make you lean in and want to know more about them. And I’m really looking forward to getting to know the other coaches. Bring it on!”
Fans are just as eager with many counting down until Miller-Heidke graces Aussie screens.
“This is so exciting, I can’t wait to see Kate Miller-Heidke as a judge!” wrote one fan, with another saying: “If Kate is on there, I’ll be definitely watching.”
Overall, many viewers are happy with the new names on the panel, concluding that it may be the best panel yet.
“It’s One of the best judging panels I have ever seen On the voice Australia. The ratings are going to be huge,” the fan commented on Instagram, while another agreed: “OMG, brilliant, all amazing singers.”
Sebastian is happy to welcome the new superstar coaches with open arms. The Aussie singer has been on the coaching panel even before the show deflected from Nine to Seven in 2021, making the move over with seasoned host Sonia Kruger.
“It’s so good to be back on The Voice! It is always very special to be a part of a show that continues to not only uncover fresh Aussie talent but also shine a bright, well-deserved light on so many talented singers,” Sebastian said.
“Adding the insane talent of LeAnn, Kate and Adam on the show this year is going to be killer!! They’re all such amazing, world-class artists who I know will bring something fresh and incredible to the season. Let’s go!”
This will be the popular program’s 13th season, but only its fourth season on Seven. During that time, the likes of Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, Jason Derulo and Keith Urban have sat in the revolving red chair.
The new season of The Voice goes into production this month and will premiere later this year.
