Jock Zonfrillo’s widow Lauren Fried has shared a touching photo of their young daughter sleeping with her father’s clothes.
The MasterChef judge died aged 46 on April 30, with his body found at a Melbourne hotel on Lygon Street the day before the Channel 10 cooking series was scheduled to premiere.
Fried, who is the mother of two of four of his children, posted a sweet photo on Zonfrillo’s Instagram of their two-year-old daughter, Isla, sleeping on Friday.
She was snuggled under what appeared to be a grey jumper.
“Little Isla has started sleeping with Papa’s clothes, keeps him close,” Fried captioned the image.
The photo has touched the hearts of many, with some sharing that they have done the same with a loved one’s clothes.
“My children’s father passed away almost 19 years ago. They still wear his clothes,” wrote one mum.
“My dads been gone almost 10 years, I still wear his socks and I’m 42,” wrote another.
“This has broken me! These beautiful kids,” added a third.
Fried, Isla and Alfie, 6, were in Italy, where the family had recently relocated to, at the time of Zonfrillo’s death.
Zonfrillo also has two adult daughters, Ava and Sophia, from previous marriages.
Fried shared earlier this week she was using books to help explain to her two young children what had happened and how they were feeling.
Last week she recorded a video to thank the public for their support and kind messages.
“I really wish he knew how loved he was and he knew the impact he had on so many people,” she said.
No cause of death was publicly announced, but police said Zonfrillo’s death was not treated as suspicious.
