The beloved Gogglebox Australia couch critic appears fresh-faced in a throwback photo to mark her birthday.

Gogglebox Australia returns for another hilarious season

Beloved Aussie series Gogglebox Australia has just wished one of its stars a happy birthday with a throwback photo.

In a photo shared on the TV show’s official Instagram account, fan-favourite Isabelle Silbery almost looked unrecognisable as she posed for what appeared to be a high school photo.

“Happy birthday to this mama-to-be! Hope it’s a great one, Izzy,” read the caption.

Now, 37, Isabelle is expecting her first child with husband AJ Richards – a baby girl. The star

Silbery shares her son, Alex, with ex-husband Craig Silbery, who she split from in 2017 after five years of marriage.

Isabelle and AJ – who were married in 2022 – discovered they were pregnant just days before an appointment with a fertility specialist after having miscarried before.

“Mum is so excited I’m having a girl. She always told me, ‘It’s up to you to have another woman in the family,’” she told she Woman’s Day earlier this year.

“There will be three women on the couch again.”

Isabelle has appeared on the Foxtel program since 2016. Known as The Silberys, she is part of a trio of strong female couch critics consisting of herself, mum Kerry and grandmother Emmie.

Sadly, only herself and her mum have appeared on the show’s current Season 18, as Emmie was diagnosed with dementia and recently moved into an aged care home.

“We are sad to announce that Emmie won’t be joining us on the couch for @goggleboxau this season,” they announced on Instagram earlier this year.

“It’s been a very challenging time for our family and we’ve had to make some difficult decisions. Emmie has been diagnosed with dementia and we wanted to be transparent about this as many families experience it. Emmie will be watching & rest assured she’s happy and being cared for.”

Mother and daughter revealed that Emmie is in an aged care facility just around the corner from both of their homes and they visit her almost every day.

“Whether it’s for happy hour on Fridays or taking her dog Pelle in for cuddles, she still lights up the room, and us, with her cheeky smile,” Isabelle previously shared on social media of their visits.

“We hope by being transparent with this news, that it helps to open up the conversation about dementia and the challenges that many families sadly have to face.”

Before her diagnosis in 2022, Emmie co-wrote a book with Kerry and Isabelle, titled Out of the Box, where all three generations of women share the lessons they’ve learnt over the years.

Gogglebox Australia airs on Wednesdays at 7.30pm on Foxtel and BINGE.
