The Block buyer Adrian Portelli celebrated his purchase on Monday night by taking this year’s winners, Steph and Gian, out to dinner.

In stories posted to his Instagram account, Portelli – who bought Steph and Gian’s as well as two more properties during Sunday’s season finale – could be seen toasting the couple he’d just made “f**king millionaires.”

Also present: Ray White estate agent Aaron Hill, who was last week referred to Victoria’s consumer watchdog over allegations he helped Portelli remove $50,000 worth of wine from the Block house he bought last year.

Couple Kevin and Andrea Griffin won the home through Portelli’s online lottery portal LMCT+, and later claimed that various valuable items were removed from the property before it was handed over.

“G’day guys, my name’s Adrian Portelli. And this bloke keeps stealing from houses!” he announced, laughing and pointing at Hill. “Aaron! Stop stealing wine! Does everyone agree?”

“Yeah,” said a laughing Steph, sat at the other end of the table.

“Next minute, Aaron’s f**king working at Coles, stocking pickles,” Portelli continued.

“Sorry guys, he doesn’t steal from houses,” he said, earning a big laugh from the table as he repeatedly winked at the camera.

“In all seriousness though, these guys – absolute legends,” he said, gesturing to the couple. “Cheers to Steph and Gian – f**king MILLIONAIRES!”

Portelli secured the couple’s home with a jaw-dropping bid of $1 million more than his auction rival Danny Wallis, securing them a record-breaking $1.65 million in auction profit.

Add on $100,000 in prize money, and the couple have gone home from their 12-week season $1.75 million richer.

That’s a whole lot more than this season’s most controversial couple, Kristy and Brett, who ended up with a profit of just $65,000 after the bidding limped over their reserve without interest from Portelli or Wallis.

Also present at this year’s auctions: Comedian Dave Hughes, who revealed on KIIS FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin today that his wife Holly blocked him from buying anything.

“I was accosted as I left the auction, trying to get out of there, because one house didn’t sell and I said, ‘I’ll go talk to my wife’,” Hughes began, before calling Holly live on-air so she could explain what happened.

Holly claimed she was berated with questions at her local school on Monday about whether or not the couple decided to buy House 2.

“I was being asked by students and teachers,” she said. “You [Hughes] came home and as we were getting into bed, you said, ‘How would you have felt if I just bought that house?’ And I said, ‘Furious’.”
