They seemed on track to become one of the rare Married At First Sight success stories, but Matthew and Lauren are reportedly not even speaking to each other anymore.
Matthew, 29, revealed that he was still a virgin during his first appearance on the dating reality show, but proudly announced he’d been intimate with new “wife” Lauren just days into their honeymoon. The couple has since appeared to go from strength to strength, and reaffirmed their relationship during last night’s commitment ceremony.

But in a surprising twist, a producer from the Kyle and Jackie O show has now revealed that Channel Nine has “banned” Matthew and Lauren from speaking to each other.
Kyle and Jackie O were discussing a tabloid headline from this morning that claimed the couple was expecting their first baby when executive producer Sonia Jahshan interrupted.
“Guys, here’s some inside goss. We’ve been told that Lauren and Matt are not allowed to talk to each other,” she revealed. “They’ve been separated.”
Sonia added: “Apparently they’ve had no contact. They’re not allowed to have contact with each other. I don’t know if it’s Nine [that’s enforcing this] but something weird is happening … They used the word ‘banned’.”
If things have gone awry, it will come as a huge shock to viewers who have watched Matthew and Lauren grow closer and closer since taking the next step (ahem) in their relationship.
The morning after the “big event”, Matthew gushed to producers about his “amazing” partner.
“I think it was worth the 29 year wait. Loz is just amazing. We are so close … I just want to be with her,” he said.
“Me touching Loz, Loz touching me, it was a beautiful moment, and I’m so glad it was Loz,” he added.
Lauren herself echoed the sentiment, revealing: “I’m feeling closer to Matt than ever. The chemistry is back. I can’t stop smiling, actually.”
Married At First Sight continues tonight at 7.30pm on Nine.
