Fans slammed Morgan Wallen for abruptly exiting the Saturday Night Live stage as the credits rolled.
After host Mikey Madison thanked the US country singer for joining her at the sketch comedy show as the musical guest, the cast began cheering and celebrating another completed episode.
Wallen then exchanged a few words with the Anora actress, 26, gave her a one-armed hug and walked straight down the aisle without saying a word to any of the other comedians. (It’s usually customary for the host and the musical guest to mingle and chat with the SNL stars.)
The country star may have also skipped the afterparty. Almost immediately after his swift exit, he posted a photo of a private plane with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.”
Fans took to social media after the show, calling the two-time Grammy nominee out for his alleged “tantrum.”
“That was the strangest ‘snl’ ending credits ive ever seen? stage empty asf standing far behind them and morgan wallen just walking off before the credits even started rolling,” wrote one user on X.
“Morgan Wallen is the first musical guest or host on ‘SNL’ that I can recall who just walked off stage during ‘goodnights’ before the credits even started to roll,” added another.
“Morgan Wallen with a little more of the catty-ass petty loser s**t he so proudly displayed running offstage down the center aisle & right past the camera at ‘SNL’ curtain call,” said a third fan.
“Morgan Wallen proving once again he has ZERO self control and is a little b**ch storming off the stage before the credits even rolled. Hope the tantrum was worth it because you’ll NEVER be on #SNL again,” claimed a fourth viewer.
A source close to Wallen told TMZ that his abrupt exit was a mishap and that he meant nothing by it.
The outlet was told that the musician “entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show … so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go.”
Page Six has reached out to reps for both SNL and Wallen for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Wallen, 31, is no stranger to controversy.
In October 2020, he was disinvited to perform at SNL after he was seen partying and smooching several women as COVID-19 protocols were in place.
The following year, TMZ released a video of the crooner saying the N-word. In the clip, Wallen could be heard telling someone to “take care of this p***y arse n****.”
The former Voice competitor issued an apology, saying he was “embarrassed and sorry” and “used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back.”
Wallen has also been arrested multiple times for driving under the influence, public intoxication and reckless endangerment.
