There’s one joke Kanye West is believed to have ordered his ex Kim Kardashian West to drop during her SNL skit.

Kanye West is said to have ordered his estranged wife Kim Kardashian West not to joke about a tweet in which he called Kris Jenner a “white supremacist” during her appearaned on Saturday Night Live.

“White supremacy at its highest no cap,” West tweeted in July 2020, alongside a screenshot of texts sent to his mother-in-law Jenner.

SNL writers reportedly wanted to use the tweet in “The People’s Kourt” sketch, which featured Kardashian playing her sister Kourtney -- as a judge.

“Originally the ‘People’s Kourt’ sketch had more aggressive tweets Kanye had posted,” a source told The Sun.

“The writers wanted to include some from last summer, like calling Kim and Kris white supremacists, but Kim shut that down. Kris and Kanye agreed.” But a SNL source told the New York Post the reports were “not true”.

Meantime, Kardashian West gave her ex and famous family a savage spray when the reality TV mogul hosted SNL.

“I married the best rapper of all-time,” Kardashian said, in the opening monologue of the iconic New York sketch show.

“Not only that, he’s the richest black man in America – a talented legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.
Addressing the former couple’s split, Kardashian joked: “So, when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing – his personality.”

Nothing was off limits for KKW, who also poked fun at her sex tape, marriages, vapid reputation and OJ Simpson on Saturday Night Live.

“I haven’t had a movie premiere in a really long time,” Kardashian said, in a reference to the 2007 sex tape that launched her career.
“No one even told me it was premiering. It must’ve slipped my mom’s mind.”

‘I’M SURPRISED TO SEE ME HERE TOO’

Wearing a hot pink Balengiaca catsuit and with her hair long and Cher-like, Kardashian made reference to Simpson, who her late father Robert Kardashian – the lawyer – defended during his infamous murder trial.

“Want to take a stab in the dark at who it was?,” Kardashian told the SNL audience. “OJ does leave a mark,” she said. “Or several. Or none at all. I still don’t know.”

In a self-deprecating monologue, Kardashian addressed “failed politicians” West and Caitlyn Jenner, and her own beauty-obsessed image. “I know, I’m surprised to see me here too,” Kardashian said.

“I’m so much more than just a pretty face – and good hair, and great makeup and amazing boobs,” she said.

“I’m so much more than a reference photo that my sisters showed their plastic surgeons.”

Later in the episode, Kardashian locked lips with SNL comedian Pete Davidson in an Aladdin-themed sketch, in which she played Princess Jasmine.
“Are you intimidated that I’m friends with a tonne of wealthy celebrities?” Kardashian asked Davidson, who was dressed as Aladdin.

“Jasmine, as we start getting more, you know, intimate, I’m just a little concerned that physically, I can’t handle you,” Davidson said.
In a standout sketch, Kardashian was joined by her mother Kris Jenner for “The People’s Kourt” – where she played her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, as a Judge Judy-style judge.

“Will you drum All The Small Things on my a** when we get home?,” Kardashian said to a SNL comedian dressed as Kourtney’s boyfriend, drummer Travis Barker.

In a meta moment, Kardashian – playing Kourtney – was confronted by cast members playing herself (complete with a replica of her facial covering Met Gala outfit), West, and Simpson.

Wearing a glossy Bachelorette-esque wig, Kardashian, who has been married three times, poked fun at her relationship history in a Bachelorette-themed sketch “The Dream Guys”.

It featured Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford and real-life US Bachelorette contestant Tyler Cameron as her suitors, as well as NBA star Blake Griffin – who previously dated Kardashian’s supermodel sister Kendall Jenner.

After threatening to send him home, for his “inexcusable” behaviour” at “luau barbecue”, Kardashian told Griffin: “But, you’re also a six-time NBA All Star, and that intrigues me. Do you accept this token?”

Kardashian’s SNL appearance was praised on Twitter, with viewers noting that “nothing was off limits” for the Skims founder.

“This Kim Kardashian SNL monologue is WOW! Reference to her porn, her dad defending OJ, nothing is off limits,” one viewer tweeted.

Another added: “I was very impressed with Kim Kardashian hosting @nbcsnl. I genuinely enjoyed every sketch she was in.”

“Hell has officially frozen over. I have to admit Kim Kardashian rocked it as host to #SNL,” another viewer said.

Wearing a new highlighter pink Balenciaga outfit – this time with dramatic sleeves – Kardashian ended the show thanking West and the rest of her family “for being such good sports”.

KIMYE REUNITED

Kardashian enlisted West to help her prepare for her much-anticipated SNL appearance, per Page Six. “Kim is nervous about hosting ‘SNL,’ it’s a big challenge but she is determined to be a success”.

“Kanye is quietly advising her on her performance, her opening monologue, even her costumes for the show.”

Kardashian, 40, had been spotted around Manhattan wearing several outfits from Balenciaga, including a glittering silver jacket with a $US25,000-plus price-tag. Balenciaga, of course, was the same luxury fashion house behind Kardashian’s all-black Met Gala outfit.

New York Post reports that Kardashian consulted comedians Ellen DeGeneres, 63, and Amy Schumer, 40, as well as other stand-ups to help with her SNL debut.

Production sources at NBC said the comedians had been giving Kardashian “tips on what to include in her monologue, how to perform certain skits and nail comedic delivery”.

Kardashian had been posting from the Saturday Night Live set in the days leading up to the broadcast, joking that hosting the iconic program would be “so easy” in an ad for the episode alongside musical guest, Halsey.
