Kim Cattrall’s new show to premiere at same time as return of And Just Like That

Coincidence, or another round in their television war? Kim Cattrall takes on And Just Like That’s return with her new show.

It’s the television war of the poses as Kim Cattrall takes on Sarah Jessica Parker with her new series dropping on the same day and at the same time as the second season of And Just Like That.

Cattrall is the lead star in the new Netflix series Glamorous which goes head to head with the first two episodes of the return of And Just Like That, airing in Australia on Binge.

Her new television venture comes after the British Canadian actor shared she would make a brief cameo as PR maven Samantha Jones in the new season of the Sex and The City sequel despite her years-long feud with Parker.

The cameo involves a sentimental “phone call” between Jones and Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw to air in the final episode of the second season.

Cattrall demanded her scene be filmed without the presence of her former co-stars Parker, Cynthia Nixon or Kristin Davis.

Netflix announced last year that Cattrall had been cast as a regular in Glamorous as “makeup mogul Madolyn Addison, a veteran from the Golden Age of Supermodels who is the founder and CEO of the prestigious boutique beauty brand that bears her name.”

The show’s lead is queer actor, singer and YouTube star Miss Benny who plays Marco Mejia, who Addison takes from “the makeup counter to a seat at the table, ruffling feathers along the way.”

Netflix said they had always planned to drop the show, which has been in the works for five years, at the end of Pride Month.

But there’s no doubt the streamer also timed the premiere of Glamorous around the return of And Just Like That … and the associated drama of the frayed relationship between Cattrall and Parker.

Cattrall has been teasing her new show on her social media channels for the past few days but has refrained from any posts regarding And Just Like That … since her cameo was leaked at the beginning of June.

And Just Like That … premieres on Binge at 5pm on June 22. And so does Glamorous on Netflix.
