DANNY Green has triumphed over Anthony Mundine in the pair’s third bout in the ring.
Instead of boxing though, the pair faced off on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! as Green entered the South African jungle camp as an intruder on the reality series.
Green beat Mundine in eating the likes of offal jelly with fish eye, raw beef kidney and liver, fish guts, Impala liver, lung and heart and squid ink pasta with fish sauce.
To win, Green put on the most weight in the challenge at 1.60kgs to take him to 94.65kg, compared to Mundine putting on 1.45kgs to register a weight of 79.30kgs.
Despite losing, Mundine is still pushing for a third fight for the pair.
“All this stuff means nothing, these eating trials and whatever else we want to do,” Mundine said. “This means nothing. The real fight is the ring. Who is the man in the ring, who is the mac in the ring? I’m a cool cat. I just want that third fight. Win, lose or draw, we have got to feed our families, we have got to give a mad show to the public and finish the trilogy that we started.”
Prior to the challenge, Mundine refused to stand for the national anthem as he has previously stated the song is racist.
Mundine and Green are bitter enemies, having won one round each in the boxing ring in bouts that were more than a decade apart.
Having won the last fight a year ago, Green has no interest in a third fight.
“I’m 45 in a month’s time, I don’t need to fight again,” he told camp-mates, referring to himself as “the Silverback)”.
“I don’t have the desire to fight anymore. I waited that long for it (the second fight). You can only have that much desire for so long. I’ve been fighting since I was 18. As far as I am concerned, the rivalry is done because I finished fighting and I finished on a high. For me, I don’t really care.”
Looking ahead, Mundine warned his fellow celebrities tensions will run high over the coming days.
“I have no problem with Danny being here, I can mingle with anybody’s company but I am not going to be his friend,” Mundine quipped.
