ABC has revealed the first look clip of its comedy series The Letdown’s season two return.

The series, co-created by and starring Alison Bell, plays on the ups and downs faced by new parents, from the dawning realisation your life will never be the same again to those moments of pure joy.

Although if we’re honest, we’re never quite sure if The Letdown is designed to make you feel less alone on the crazy newborn journey, or if it’s encouraging women who don’t have little tykes to get their tubes tied.

Off the back of a critically acclaimed first season which saw it awarded with the AACTA Award for Best Screenplay and Best TV Comedy, the show returns with six new episodes.

In season two, Audrey and Jeremy think they’ve come through the worst of it, hoping for something resembling a stable, normal life. Alas, it’s not to be.

The story focus shifts from becoming new parents to dealing with different challenges including living in separate cities, returning to work, childcare and moving. There’s a lot going on in six episodes.

The Letdown returns on ABC and ABC iview on Wednesday, May 29 at 9pm
