CARRIE Bickmore will return to work next month.
The Gold Logie winning co-host of Ten’s The Project has been off work for less than two months after giving birth to daughter, Evie.
“I’ve got another few weeks so in June, all things going well,” Bickmore revealed on the Confidential on Nova radio show last night.
“I’m a big planner and for some reason when it comes to this going back to work bit, my brain has gone, ‘you know what, you’ll deal with it when it happens’. I don’t actually know how it is all going to work but it will have to work.”
Bickmore, 34, is also mother to seven-year-old son, Oliver.
“I’ve found someone that is going to come in to work and look after Evie while I’m doing my stuff and I’ve got someone to pick Ollie up so it is all a bit of a coordinated effort,” she explained.
“Once she settles into a routine and is a bit older, she will be at home but at first I think she still needs to be attached to me for a little bit longer. It’s already been a big start to the year so I’m kind of looking forward to everything settling down to be honest and just getting into a groove and getting back to work.”
The popular TV personality last week drew attention to brain cancer awareness with her Gold Logie acceptance speech, donning a blue beaning and encouraging other Australians to do the same and post images of themselves on social media.
Bickmore’s first husband, Greg Lange, died of the disease in 2010.
Putting any traditional industry rivalries aside, stars from different networks donned beanies to show their support.
“I was overwhelmed by the response, I just couldn’t believe it,” Bickmore said. “It’s a beautiful thing that it wasn’t about what network you worked on, obviously brain cancer is nothing to do with the TV world and the competitive world of TV and that is why I was so pleased to see everyone doing it.”
