British child flips Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew the bird live on air

Live on-air crosses are dangerous things to do as a small child illustrated when Sunrise spoke to Edwina Bartholomew this morning and was upstagedM by a “little rotter”.

5 funniest Sunrise moments

Pity the fate of the poor Australian TV presenters been sent to Britain to cover the impending birth of the newest royal baby.

Some have been there for weeks.

Quite apart from having to fill airtime talking about a baby that hasn’t yet appeared, they’re also having to do live crosses at close to midnight to meet the demands of breakfast television.

Now Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew has another annoyance to put up with — rude British brats.

Earlier this morning, Bartholomew was dutifully carrying out her royal reporting duties from Windsor, to the west of London, when a car came into view behind her. From the back window came the cherubic face of a child that then contorted into a satisfied grimace as he gave the Channel 7 star the bird.

“How about that little kid that pulled up behind me?” she said to David Koch back in the studio. “What a little rotter, he stuck up his finger at me. There you go, the mean streets of Windsor on a bank holiday weekend. Wait until I get my hands on him.”

She then confirmed the car circled back for a second go.

“I’m sure you will be stoked to hear he looped back around for an F-you too,” she said on Twitter.

Bartholomew could decide to follow the lead of Channel 10’s Angela Bishop. After two weeks of midnight crosses in a chilly Windsor talking about a yet-to-be-born baby, she gave up and popped back on a plane to Australia.

Please enjoy below, in all its rude glory, a British child upstaging Australian breakfast TV.
