Bobo the creepy clown pulled from YouTube
It’s six years since Mark Holden appeared on Dancing With the Stars as the clown Bobo. And the TV personality says he has one big regret about his creepy creation.

Mark Holden wants justice for Bobo the Clown.
It’s now six years since Holden appeared on Dancing With the Stars possessed by the clown Bobo.
While Bobo’s creepy performances may have been burnt into the memory of Australians, the official TV footage has been quietly erased from YouTube.
“It’s been taken off, you just can’t find Bobo dancing,” Holden told Confidential.
“It had had a million hits, people from America were looking for Bindi Irwin on Dancing With the Stars and tripping over Bobo. It didn’t look good for the Dancing With the Stars brand. If I’d known they were going to do that I would have captured some of the footage myself.”
Holden now regrets he didn’t channel Sacha Baron Cohen to take his performance art of Bobo even further.
“I wish I’d had more of Sacha’s courage on Dancing With the Stars, I wish I had somehow managed to smuggle a saw onto the set and start to saw the judge’s desk and have the security drag me off. I had 95-per-cent on that show but you need 120-per-cent like Sacha does.”
Holden and daughter Katie launch a new podcast on Friday – the Idol Archives – where they interview former contestants from Australian Idol. That includes several who have quit music, Natalie Gauci who struggled with overnight fame and Damien Leith who complained about restrictive contracts he signed.
During isolation Holden, who is no longer working as a barrister, has also finished documentaries on the Aston Circus and Idol rapper Joel Turner as well as footage of one of his cabaret shows, and is writing a fiction book.
