IT’S not easy watching a grown man cry, but reno rookie Andrew unleashed a torrent of man tears during an emotional confrontation on The Block.
The first time renovator became so overwhelmed during a chat with Dan and Keith that he broke down and sobbed in an emotional scene during Monday night’s episode.
Andrew and his girlfriend Whitney have been struggling on the Block so far, failing to finish their room last week.
Whitney said he had never seen Andrew so broken.
“Andrew’s a really strong person and I have never seen him like this,” she said. “It’s hard for me to see that. I don’t like it.”
Whitney and Andrew told news.com.au that they were way out of their depth on The Block and thought they would be given more help behind the scenes.
“We realised that TV time is real time, in a 24-hour challenge, you get 24 hours, you get no luxuries,” Andrew told news.com.au. “It’s legit and it’s full on.”
“Being a viewer, you’re sitting at home on your couch thinking ‘I could do better than that, this would be easy, the tradies do everything, surely it’s a longer period of time’, or there’s some luxuries or resources you don’t hear about, but that quickly was shattered.”
While Whitney added: “It’s so relentless, it’s so hard. We knew it wasn’t going to be a walk in the park going on the show, we knew that it was going to be hard, but we were definitely working on a different level to what we ever have before.”
