A Sydney boutique has made good on its promise to take footage seemingly showing a woman nicking a pair of designer sunnies to authorities.
Senso in Paddington initially shared an image of the woman, with her face pixilated, after she allegedly stole the sunglasses, asking for her to return them or face the consequences.
“To the woman that stole a pair of Pared sunglasses from our Paddington Boutique at 3.02pm on Sunday; you have 24 hours to return them to us before footage is handed to the police,” the post read.
The sunglasses retail for $260.
Senso is one of Australia’s most successful online shoe businesses but sell other accessory brands at the Paddington store.
Video footage from a security camera inside the boutique clearly shows the woman picking up the glasses before leaving the store without paying.
Confidential has confirmed a complaint was lodged at Surry Hills Police Station regarding the alleged theft with an investigation ongoing.
“On Friday 18 October 2024, police at Surry Hills Police Area Command received a report of a theft at a store on Glenmore Road, Paddington,” a statement from NSW Police read.
“Officers were told a woman, believed to be aged in her 30s, took a pair of sunglasses and put them into her handbag and left the shop without paying.
“Police would like to speak to a woman who may be able to assist with inquiries.
“She is described as being of caucasian appearance, wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, black shoes, with long black hair and a purple handbag.”
