Springsteen dedicates heartfelt new song to Gudinski

Rock legend Bruce Springsteen has paid tribute to Michael Gudinski, dedicating his new song to the Aussie music icon.

Rock icon Bruce Springsteen has paid another heartfelt tribute to Michael Gudinski by dedicating a new song to the Australian music legend.

The song, I’ll See You In My Dreams, features on Springsteen’s latest album, Letter To You.

The song, about losing a loved one says: “The road is long and seeming without end. The days go on, I remember you my friend.

“And though you’re gone, and my heart’s been emptied it seems, I’ll see you in my dreams.”

It continues: “When all our summers have come to an end, we’ll meet and love and laugh again, up around the riverbend. For death is not the end.”

The latest dedication, posted on Twitter on Thursday, followed a statement from Springsteen hours after Gudinski’s sudden death on Tuesday.

“My friend Michael Gudinski was first, last, and always a music man,” Springsteen said “I’ve toured the world for the last 50 years and never met a better promoter.

“Michael always spoke with a deep rumbling voice, and the words would spill out so fast that half the time I needed an interpreter. But I could hear him clear as a bell when he would say, ‘Bruce, I’ve got you covered’. And he always did.

“He was loud, always in motion, intentionally (and unintentionally) hilarious, and deeply soulful,” Springsteen added. “He will be remembered by artists, including this one, from all over the world every time they step foot on Australian soil.

“My deepest condolences to his wife and partner Sue and to the whole Gudinski family, of which he was so proud.”
