Former child star JoJo has been spotted at Sydney airport, and she’s looking unrecognisable thanks to her low-key look.
The singer was prancing around the airport wearing a baseball hat, sweats and looking fresh-faced.
Did she look gorgeous? Yes, but she wasn’t celebrity peacocking, so she was blending right in.
She looked just like any other young woman trying to navigate the airport, picking comfort over fashion. It was the relatable move we all deserve.
JoJo was in Sydney because she was performing at the festival Fridayz Live along with several other big names, including Jason Derulo and Travis McCoy.
JoJo, 32, is most famous for her banger Leave (Get Out), which came out in 2004 when she was only thirteen.
It was an absolute banger about telling your ex that you are through with them and ready to embrace life on your own. In retrospect, who knows why a thirteen-year-old was singing about such a thing, but the song is an undeniable bop.
Since then, she’s released some other great songs like When Love Hurts and Too Little Too Late, but she’s never quite recaptured the success of her first big hit.
The singer has still managed to carve out an extensive career for herself and has consistently worked, even trying her hand at acting in titles such as Aquamarine and R.V: Runaway Vacation.
She’s ditched the brunette locks she had when she first became famous and gone for a blonde bombshell look that also has a huge vibe.
JoJo has been very honest about the toll of becoming famous at a young age and trying to navigate the intense attention.
“I felt a lot of correlation between the way I felt about myself and achievement, or the way I felt about myself and people freaking out over me,” she told Insider.
She said ultimately, gaining self-worth from external stuff wasn’t healthy for her.
“That’s a dangerous place to get your self-worth from. I mean, it’s not like it was this big, unhealthy thing. It was something very subtle but pervasive.”
