Sam Pang says Alex Perry ‘did not enjoy’ appearing on HYBPA

Sam Pang has revealed which star had a miserable time on Have You Been Paying Attention after a comedian cracked a joke about his appearance.

Sam Pang has revealed an Aussie star did not enjoy his appearance on Have You Been Paying Attention.

Pang, who has appeared on HYBPA since it first aired in 2013, shared the story during a chat with news.com.au ahead of this weekend’s Logie awards at The Star Sydney, which he’s hosting for the second year in a row.

If you’re unfamiliar with HYBPA, each episode typically features a well-known guest quizmaster who joins host Tom Gleisner to ask the panellists a bunch of questions for one or two segments.

Past guest quizmasters have included PM Anthony Albanese, pop group Hanson, rapper Fatman Scoop and magicians Penn and Teller.

And then there was the star Pang told us about, who probably won’t be rushing back for another appearance on HYBPA.

“Alex Perry came on the show early and to me that was memorable because I don’t think he had a really good time,” Pang said.

The fashion designer appeared on the show in 2015, back when he was a judge on Australia’s Next Top Model.

“He just didn’t seem to enjoy it,” Pang said about Perry’s appearance.

“I think Kate Langbroek, not to throw her under the bus because it was hilarious, but I think she may have got him off-side early when she said, ‘Hey, Alex, if you’re looking for your glasses, they’re on top of your head,’” Pang recalled.

“That was her opening gambit! Yeah, I don’t know if he had a good time,” he laughed.

Naturally, we went looking for the footage of Perry’s appearance on the show but it appears to have been scrubbed from the internet.

It’s nowhere to be seen on the HYBPA Facebook page, YouTube or Instagram account.

It’s not even available to watch on 10play.com.au where most of the other episodes are free to watch.

All we could find was a tweet from the HYBPA Twitter account, and a clip of the promo spruiking his upcoming guest spot.

HYBPA at the Logies

HYBPA stars Tom Gleisner and Ed Kavalee are both expected to attend the Logies this weekend in Sydney where the Channel 10 show is nominated for Best Comedy Entertainment Program.

It’s up against Gruen, Hard Quiz, Thank God You’re Here, The Weekly With Charlie Pickering and The Yearly With Charlie Pickering.

HYBPA has won eight Logies in the past.

The TV WEEK Logie Awards will air on Channel 7 on Sunday, August 18 from 7pm
