Rebel Wilson has been branded a hypocrite after attending a lavish bash in Dubai featuring some of the world’s biggest stars.
The Pitch Perfect star, 42, and her fashion designer girlfriend Ramona Agruma were among VIPs invited to the opening of Dubai’s new luxury hotel, Atlantis The Royal.
The 43-storey resort spans a whopping 406,000 square metres and includes six towers, 795 rooms, 17 restaurants and bars and the world’s largest jellyfish aquarium.
Beyonce and Kendall Jenner led the guest list, which is part of a lavish three-day spectacle to mark the hotel’s opening.
Beyonce was reportedly paid about $A34 million to perform a private one-hour set at the Dubai event to celebrate the ultra-luxury hotel’s launch.
In a post shared on Instagram, Wilson gushed: “Atlantis The Royal is BEYond! What a weekend with BEY!”.
But many of her followers were not impressed that she was boasting about Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, where it is a crime to be a homosexual and is punishable by death.
“Aren’t you a member of LGBTQ+ community? The hypocrisy of it all,” wrote one.
Another said: “Human rights? LGBT? Unfollowing now”.
“Uhm, they kill our kind over there. Why are you promoting this?” another upset fan wrote.
Australia was well represented at the event, with guests including Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Sonia Kruger, Jules Sebastian, Scott Cam and newly married Olympia Bellchambers (nee Valance), and Teagan and Sam Rybka.
Other guests included Ronan and Storm Keating, Liam Payne, and actors Michelle Keegan, Ellen Pompeo and Ashley Park.
