The pop star of the moment Lizzo will realise the dream of her lifetime when she performs in Australia for the first time in January.
The Good As Hell force of musical nature has also booked two side shows in addition to her appearances at the annual FOMO festival.
Lizzo will perform a special show at Forum Melbourne on Wednesday January 8.
She will also be playing at the Sydney Opera House, which she told the Herald Sun was on top of her must-see list for her Australian visit.
The classically trained flautist who has smashed into the global pop charts with her infectious hit Truth Hurts had expressed a desire to sit in with an orchestra at the iconic venue.
Instead, she gets her own gig.
“I want to go to the Sydney Opera House, see if I can sit in for the first chair flautist,” she told me in August.
“We’ll see what happens. I think that would be easier for me than doing a solo at the Sydney Opera House.”

While the twerking, flute-playing, rapping singer has been celebrated by everyone from Rihanna to Barack Obama, Lizzo said playing classical flute with an orchestra fills her with deep anxiety.
“I would be so anxious. I am confident in everything but the flute … I did it for so long and I was such a competitive flute player, literally, I was in competitions so I get anxiety about being good enough,” she said.
“It’s so wild. Everything else oh I don’t care … but if I f... up on the flute, I’m a failure!”
Lizzo completes a triumvirate of r&b-flecked, soul-stirring pop gamechangers, alongside Solange Knowles and Ella Mai, playing at the venerable Opera House in January.
Ben Marshall, the Opera House’s Head of Contemporary Music, reckons it could be the most intimate gig the in-demand artist will perform next year.
“The story of Lizzo’s fierce commitment to her mighty talents and innate sense of fun and self is not only one of the most empowering arcs in modern music but is also the undeniable reason why she is the breakout pop act of 2019,” Marshall said.
