Why Dan could be snubbed at top golf courses

Daniel Andrews’ hopes of gaining membership at Melbourne’s most prestigious golf clubs are dwindling after this one move teed off members.

All the chatter down at the 19th hole has been about Dan Andrews and his mates rocking up for a round only for him to be told he wasn’t within the 15km zone.

Or were some members annoyed because Dan parked in the five-minute spot, which is just not the done thing?

Seems they were all out of bounds.

The Premier, who is a member at exclusive Cheltenham golf club Kingston Heath, was positively beaming at Friday’s presser when he confirmed he has booked in for a round this weekend, his first hit in about seven months.

Even a broken back and ribs that still won’t heal can’t keep him from taking a swing.

But his hopes of being put up for membership at any of the other prestigious courses around Melbourne may have found the rough.

We hear the Premier had been contemplating making a move but the members are teed off at him for bringing in strict lockdown restrictions.

And they have more than a chip on their shoulder. It’s more like a divot.

The whispers doing the fairways is that if any member nominates Dan at the top clubs, the captain’s call threat is they will be shown the door.
