PHILANTHROPIST Heloise Pratt has donated a luxury cruise to a family facing their young son’s cancer battle.
Pratt paid $54,000 for the five-night cruise aboard the 24m luxury power boat, complete with captain and hostess, at the Million Dollar Lunch fundraiser for children’s cancer at Crown Palladium on Thursday.
Earlier at the event, Joel and Kate Gniel told the story of their son Harvey, 4, and his fight against acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
After winning her bid for the five-night cruise through the Whitsundays aboard the M.Y Rocco, Pratt announced: “John and Kate, I’d like to donate it to you and your family. Have a great time. You deserve it.”
The Million Dollar Lunch, now in its 14th year, raised a record $2,503,350 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
SAY WHAT?
MATT Preston’s clothes certainly put the sizzle into MasterChef this season.
The well-upholstered judge is a bona fide fashionista in magenta, lavender and fire-engine red. He sometimes “frocks up” in suits he thinks might look even better with “velvet cuffs”.
But he told Page 13 he decided against them because it might be “too Liberace, too Las Vegas”.
Preston said the Channel 10 budget means he had to wear the wardrobe more than once. “Everything gets a number of outings. I’m dead frugal, me.”
