AUSTRALIAN PHOTOGRAPHER LISA SAAD STRIPPED OF AWARD
AIPP national president John Swainston told Page 13 the scandal was the biggest to hit the industry in the 40-year history of the awards. He said the institute was now looking at naming revised winners in a number of state and national awards.
He said competition entries in the future would be looked at with greater scrutiny.
“To be that driven by success and to win win win at all costs is absolutely tragic,” Swainston said.
He said the AIPP state and national awards are judged on a photographer’s original work and you don’t “mess with the picture”.
“With immediate effect, Lisa Saad’s membership of the institute will cease indefinitely; all accumulated points, awards, titles and prizes are rescinded. Ms Saad will not be permitted to enter future AIPP state or national awards,” the AIPP statement read.
Saad did not return calls on Friday.
