Move over Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon, Aussie sport has a new ‘it’ couple

Australian swimming golden girl Ariarne Titmus has found love with a high-profile sportsman, famous for his flying mullet.

Move over Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon, Aussie swimming has a new sporting couple.

Golden girl of the pool Ariarne Titmus is crossing codes, newly dating Melbourne Storm pin-up Ryan Papenhuyzen.

The two-time Olympic champion and world record holder was previously linked to fellow swimmer Kyle Niesler.

Papenhuyzen, 24, is known for not just being a “ripping bloke” but for his flying mullet on the rugby field and good looks (c’mon the man has an actual neck).

The Storm fullback recently split with girlfriend of three years, Magpies netballer Kelsey Browne.

All eyes were on Titmus and Papenhuyzen as they stepped out together on Turnbull Stakes Day at Flemington earlier this month.

Both are keen racegoers. Queensland-based Titmus, 22, was a budding equestrian before taking up swimming and was recently announced as a Victoria Racing Club Ambassador.

Papenhuyzen along with Rugby League legend Laurie Daley part owns the talented Foxy Cleopatra who is second favourite for next month’s VRC Kennedy Oaks.

Titmus, who went on a European trip with her girlfriends after winning four gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, will be saddle up for the Melbourne Cup at Flemington, hopefully with Papenhuyzen by her side.
