Melbourne dominatrix Mistress Jane has defended detailing her encounter with the late Shane Warne at a party.
In her tell-all book, The Dominatrix Next Door, out next week, Mistress Jane reveals what she says is the real story behind the 2016 headlines about Warne attending a $400-a-head swingers’ party.
Mistress Jane, the dominatrix featured in the salacious stories, said Warne was “all class” at the underground party known as Killing Kittens.
Asked why she was now detailing her interaction with him in a memoir about her life and times as a single mum by day and a dominatrix by night, Mistress Jane said it was her story to tell.
“The story is already out there; if you google Shane Warne and dominatrix you will see more than a dozen stories about this,” she said.
“But this is my chance to tell my side of it. There are all sorts of different versions of what happened. Finally I’m telling it from my perspective.”
But Mistress Jane, from “Melbourne’s Bible belt” in Nunawading, says she only has kind words to say about Warne.
“It was sensationalised at the time in the press with him saying I should whip the brat and so forth, but there’s so much more to it and I have nothing but praise for him,” she said. “It was actually a really lovely interaction.”
Only Warnie could garner praise from a dominatrix!
Mistress Jane, 44, said Warne came up and praised her for having a “good arm” after he saw her disciplining her “sub” at the party.
“When the spin bowler comes up to you and says you have a good arm, I just thought how did I get here?” she said. “He was an absolute hoot and a true gentleman.”
Mistress Jane said Warne was by far the most respectful of her celebrity clientele base.
She said it was the corporate types and a politician or two who really liked to get their kink on.
She was paid to host corporate Christmas parties in Melbourne where she put naughty employees in boardrooms: “There would literally be a line of staff down the corridor wanting to get into detention.”
Mistress Jane, who has now retired, said she hoped her book shone a positive light on the kink community and fed people’s curiosity about the closed walls of a dominatrix.
She will hold an invite-only party next week at Hares and Hyenas to launch her memoir, published by Melbourne Books, and will be signing next weekend at the expo Oz Kink Fest. Mistress Jane says Melbourne is known globally as “quite hardcore” along with London, San Francisco and “basically all of Germany”.
“The book is for my grandchildren and about empowerment and feminism and owning your sexuality and not being ashamed of it,” she said.
“I want to teach my kids that.
“I’ll be like, look what Granny did!”
