He is the richlister known for throwing the parties to end all parties.
But this year upmarket trucker Lindsay Fox is taking a low-key approach to his 88th birthday.
The Linfox patriarch once said he never thought he would make it past 62 years of age, given that’s when his father passed away, so he’s been celebrating birthdays in style ever since.
But it will be a mostly family affair this month, with the Fox patriarch soon jetting off to his Hawaiian holiday home for his April 19 birthday.

When we say Hawaiian holiday home we mean it.
The Australian trucking magnate has long held a property on one of Honolulu’s most prestigious streets.
Mansion-lined Kahala Avenue is home to some of the world’s most magnificent oceanfront views.
The story goes that when a Japanese billionaire offered to buy the Fox home for an astronomical price, he declined, saying in his ever so eloquent way: “I told him to kiss my backside”.
Fox’s neighbours have just unloaded a three-home legacy estate, one of the largest residential compounds on the island, with direct access to Kahala Beach, for a whopping $65m, or $102.7bn AUD, making it the most expensive sale in Hawaii.
The island US state is the perfect landing pad for our Aussie richlisters investing in overseas real estate. It has a comparable time zone to Australia and more importantly, a direct flight via Fox’s private jet.
Family scion David Fox, boss of the Melbourne-based transport empire’s Avalon Airport, held his 50th celebrations in the Pacific paradise.
Friends including former Lord Mayor Sally Capp and former Carlton prez Luke Sayers joined in the fun.
Last year, Fox senior held a men’s only affair at his Linfox Hangar at Essendon Airport just after he opened the $152m Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre at The Alfred hospital.
That prompted a birthday singalong with PM Anthony Albanese and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan in attendance.
Fox’s most famous knees-up was the “conception party” he threw in mid-2016, nine months ahead of his 80th birthday on board what was dubbed the Love Boat, a superyacht that took guests around the Mediterranean with billionaire Gina Rinehart providing the fireworks finale.
Fellow billionaires Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest and Solomon Lew were on board for his 85th birthday, a 12-day cruise from New York to Montreal costing some $5m.
Back to Hawaii and in 2000 Page 13 fell upon a rather alarming shirtless image of Fox and co — which we of course had to share — when he hosted an all-expenses-paid trip for former St Kilda football players, including those he played with in the 1959 season.
Page 13 hears the family Bombardier Global 6000 will soon jet off from Essendon Airport to Hawaii for a Fox family getaway.
