Grand Final border breacher Hayden Burbank swapped prison sweats for a tux for his Jay Gatsby themed 50th birthday celebrations on Saturday.

Toorak is a long way from Perth’s Hakea maximum security prison and Burbank is celebrating in style with more than 150 guests including Sam Newman, Campbell Brown, Jack Watts and some current Melbourne premiership heroes.

Burbank’s cell buddy Mark Babbage was also in attendance, no doubt needing to sink his sorrows in magnums of French champagne after ASIC banned the grand final breacher from providing financial services or engaging in credit activities for 10 years.

Guests to the lavish affair – which featured extravagant entertainment including showgirls and synchronised swimmers – were asked to make a donation to bushfire relief efforts in lieu of gifts, with Burbank.
