Forget Portsea, Melbourne’s social set has a new hotspot

Footy WAGs, top notch lawyers and colourful identities have all ditched Melbourne for a stint up north.

Noosa Main Beach has become the new playground of Melbourne’s social set.

“They are all from Melbourne and they all hate Dictator Dan.”

That’s the response from the white-shoe real estate agents in Noosa getting constant calls from disgruntled Melburnians looking to move in.

Such is the influx of the clammy-skinned grouches from down south, the local council is trying to put them off buying into the already overpriced Noosa hotspot, or at least move down to Mooloolaba.

The new greeting among the toffy types these days is not how are you?

It’s more likely to be, hope you don’t get Covid at an inconvenient time.

With almost all of 3142 and Portsea coming down with the Covid cough, they have hightailed it up to Noosa for the holidays.

Down on Hastings St it’s hard not to spot Melburnians walking the strip with their newly purchased striped CoolCabana. It’s the must-have accessory on Main Beach.

Bec and Chris Judd have just finished a stint at their favourite family hotspot, where they usually reside at ritzy Sea Haven.

They just missed out on a catch-up with fellow WAG Nadia Bartel, who was frolicking on Main Beach with her boys. The Judds jetted back for courtside seats at the AO on Tuesday as guests of Piper-Heidsick.

Meanwhile, just a few pool lengths down Hastings St boardwalk and it was none other than colourful character Mick Gatto getting in some family time.

The Melbourne godfather spends more of his time as grandfather these days.

Doting on his young family by the pool, Gatto had a resort towel wrapped around him and he ain’t hard to miss.

His heavily tattooed bod was on full display with the inked-up names of barrister Robert Richter, who represented Gatto over the killing of Benji Veniamin, and close ally Faruk Orman, whose conviction for being the getaway driver in the murder of Victor Peirce was quashed.

No surprise Mick Gatto wasn’t being papped.
