Celebrity chefs Curtis Stone and Andy Allen are believed to be two of three front runners set to helm MasterChef Australia in 2020.
Stone, who has not ruled out a judging role on Ten’s show, and is based in Los Angeles, is said to be close to committing to the reality show kitchen.
Insiders say to help Stone, several cook offs will be held in California, where the star chef has restaurants in Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
The same sources said California tourism bosses are keen to see the top-rating show travel to, and promote the world’s entertainment capital.
A third host — a woman — is still being cast to front show alongside Stone and Allen. Insiders say the names do not include Poh Ling Yeow, Sarah Todd or Julie Goodwin.
Allen, who won MasterChef in 2012, is a chef at Three Blue Ducks, and popular author and YouTube broadcaster.

A Ten spokesperson said on Friday: “We are still casting and no decision has been made.”
In Melbourne last week, Stone said MasterChef is “an incredible show that’s changed the landscape of food in Australia.
“I’ve got some pretty crazy time commitments in the US but getting back over here and being a part of it and dropping in and out of the show has been really fun.”
He added: “That would be tough to negotiate with my wife (the time needed for filming).
“I’ve got a pretty full schedule back in the States, but you never know.”
Ten parted ways with MasterChef judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston last month.
