NBL owner Larry Kestelman is forking out more than $1.2m for a publicity blitz with Chicago Bulls superstar Scottie Pippen.
It’s a major coup for the NBL, with the six-time NBA champion effectively signing on as an ambassador for the season tip-off.
On top of being here to promote Kestelman’s local league, which starts in a fortnight, Pippen is available for the right price.
Page 13 understands bookmaking giant Sportsbet has taken up Kestelman’s offer to get the NBA legend to Melbourne for the AFL grand final.
So in demand, sports talent agency TLA was hoping to cash in and secure the superstar for $50,000 to appear at the AFL grand final eve luncheon.
And for the diehard fans with deep pockets, you can shell out $2500 for a 3½- hour cruise with 35 of your pals on a superyacht on Sydney Harbour, talking shop with Pippen and ex-Bulls teammate Aussie Luc Longley.
But wait, there’s more. Private dinners at $6000 each are also on the menu.
Pippen’s star status had a renaissance off the back of Michael Jordan’s Last Dance doco, where he featured prominently talking about life alongside the game’s greatest player. He also has cut through with legions of Housewives fans who are across Pippen’s efforts off the court, thanks to ex-wife turned one of the world’s top-earning OnlyFans creators (she really has cute feet), Larsa Pippen. Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa, 49, has courted controversy after it was revealed she is dating Jordan’s 32-year-old son, Marcus.
Jordan has expressed his displeasure at the awks romance; Scottie has so far not commented.
Not so for Larsa, who is happy to air the former couple’s dirty laundry, revealing at the Housewives Miami reunion she and Pippen used to go at it four times a night.
“I never had a day off for 23 years,” Larsa quipped.
