Cassie Sainsbury to marry fiance in Bogota’s El Buen Pastor

COCAINE Cassie will swap her drug-smuggling headphones for a bridal veil as she prepares for a jailhouse wedding in Colombia next year.

'Cocaine Cassie' sentenced to six years in jail

COCAINE Cassie will swap her drug-smuggling headphones for a bridal veil as she prepares for a jailhouse wedding in Colombia next year.

Cassie Sainsbury isn’t letting prison bars get in the way of marrying fiance Scott Broadbridge as she serves a six-year sentence after negotiating a plea deal last month.

Sainsbury faced up to 30 years in Bogota’s El Buen Pastor prison for trying to smuggle out almost 6kg of cocaine on April 12.

The 22-year-old South Australian could be free in two-and-a-half years with time off for good behaviour.

Broadbridge has twice visited Sainsbury in the Colombian jailhouse since her incarceration.

But the honeymoon will have to be postponed until after she serves her time.

Sainsbury’s agent, celebrity spinner Max Markson, said local designers will likely clamour to dress the convicted drug mule. (Think of the magazine deals. Ka-ching!)

The curvy inmate maintains she was befriended in the Colombian capital by a mystery man, who visited her at her hotel making her an offer too good to refuse — 18 sets of the aforementioned headphones at a price to good to be true.

Airport police later found 5.8kg of cocaine in the headphone cases.

C’mon, don’t you just hate it when that happens?

Nevertheless, things appear to have turned around for Sainsbury who first claimed she was being bullied by other inmates at the jail.

She has learnt to speak fluent Spanish and has started teaching the prison guards English.

She even served as translator when a troop of Chinese Government officials were taken on a prison tour.

The Chinese spoke English, which the bride-to-be translated for the guards. What a model prisoner!

And if a wedding isn’t enough, Sainsbury might don a barrister’s wig after taking off her bridal veil.

Far from languishing in her Colombian prison cell, the one-time sex worker turned drug mule wants to study law by correspondence.

If it pleases your honour.
