Darlings! The queen of beauty is heading to Melbourne in what’s hailed as the greatest “glow” on earth.
Beauty entrepreneur and richlister Jo Horgan is on the eve of opening her biggest mega Mecca store to date in Bourke St.
But the Mecca founder likes to think big, and is hosting makeup artist to the stars Charlotte Tilbury for what’s been called “the world’s biggest beauty masterclass.”
Horgan has the Midas – make that golden with a shimmering bronzed highlight — touch when it comes to what we want from beauty and cosmetics after founding what has become Australia’s biggest cosmetic’s retailer from a single store on Toorak Rd in 1997.
Fast forward and a flagship mammoth Mecca store will be soon unveiled at Bourke St at the site once home to Edward William Cole’s iconic Cole’s Book arcade – a two story book shop that was once the largest in the world.
But first the Mecca founder and co-CEO will be hosting a masterclass with another beauty queen, legendary makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.
“Bringing Charlotte Tilbury to Australia is a dream we’ve held close for a long time,” Horgan said.
“For Mecca to host Charlotte for the first time is nothing short of magical. Charlotte is a true trailblazer in beauty and her impact on our community has been both empowering and enduring.”
The iconic British makeup artist — who is known for her outrageously glamorous aesthetic and besties with stars from Kate Moss to Kylie Minogue — is marking her first visit to Australia with a masterclass to be held on Saturday June 14 at Melbourne Town Hall.
