AFL icon Mike Brady pleads for safe return of beloved “family member” after his guitar was stolen

There is one day in November AFL icon Mike Brady will never want to remember — the day thieves nicked his beloved guitar.

Up There Cazaly Is An AFL Grand Final Day Staple

Much-loved AFL icon Mike Brady has had one of his guitars “sadly stolen.”

The man, who famously penned and performs Up There Cazaly and One Day in September at grand finals, likened the acoustic guitar to a “member of his family” after it was pinched in South Melbourne on Sunday.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the one of a kind axe, which has an inlay of Brady’s name on the neck (at fret 14 to be exact), are being asked to contact the police.

Brady is not the only local artist to have their prized work recently stolen, which is a sad indictment of our times.

Melbourne award-winning artist Carmel Jenkin is still reeling after more than 30 pieces were stolen from a storage facility.

Despite contacting Richmond police, the works of the talented figurative artist have not been found, with no leads to date.

A devastated Jenkin told Page 13 she was at a loss of what to do, with some of the unique pieces dating back many years and regarded as irreplaceable.
