A Current Affair reporter Seb Costello has quit Nine, after an incident where he tried to interview a Melbourne businessman in a women’s toilet. He’s reportedly been seen this week talking with Eddie McGuire.

A Current Affair reporter Seb Costello has resigned from the Nine after 13 years at the network.

The former star reporter told the Herald Sun he had decided to leave on his own accord and will pursue other ventures in the near future.

“After more than a decade at Nine, I have resigned from my role to seek a fresh challenge,” Costello said.

“I would like to thank Nine and wish the team all the best.”

It’s understood he is potentially been recruited to for work at a rival network, with a role that could focus on his love for wrestling and WWE.

Costello was just this week reportedly seen in talks with good friend and former mentor Eddie McGuire.

The move comes after Costello and his ACA cameraman were stood down by Nine three months ago pending an internal investigation involving an interview with a Melbourne businessman in a women’s toilet cubicle that landed him in court.

The former Nine News reporter, who is the son of the network’s former chairman and ex-federal Treasurer Peter Costello, had a long and storeyed career at Nine, working as European bureau correspondent and covering stories from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding to the Grenfell Tower fire and the Barcelona terror attacks.

A spokesperson for nine on Friday confirmed Costello’s departure wishing him all the best.

“Nine confirms that Seb Costello has resigned his employment. We wish him all the best.”
