Attending a New Year’s Eve party doesn’t have to break the bank: in some cases you can head out for under $100.
One popular venue, Beverly Rooftop in South Yarra, is taking normal dinner bookings as a non-ticketed event.
The venue’s creative director, Emily Gurr, is creating a glam Hollywood feel with a Met Gala vibe.
“We wanted to keep it as first in, best dressed to invest in the process,’’ Gurr said.
“This special event calls for an elevated yet individually styled black-tie affair, paying homage to the authentic spirit of a 90s Met Gala and drawing inspiration from the desert modernism that gave birth to the Beverly brand.
“Throughout the event we have multiple thoughtful elements of surprise to orchestrate an evening for the books.
“Think glam, an elevated, personalised and considered guest experience — carpet roll out, champagne, sexy elevated and vintage luxury experience. Table polaroids, special table settings, caviar and more. It all rolls into New Year’s Day as well from 1pm-11pm.”
Not far away The Prince Hotel in St Kilda is offering revellers the chance to party with some of the city’s best DJs and musicians for $100 tickets.
“It’s one of the best rooftops and views in Melbourne and this year it’s true value for money,’’ said DJ Andy Murphy.
Other suburban offerings include St Kilda’s Sea Baths and Riva, new Winsdor venue Studio Amaro with a premiere dinner offering, while in the city, hotspot Bar Bambi has an array of options.
“We’re excited to be back celebrating our annual party,’’ said Bar Bambi owner Nick Russian.
“The night almost feels like a scene from The Great Gatsby, transporting guests to a by-gone era of entertainment lead by the great Mr Bobby Fox.”
