Music legend Tom Jones has announced he and his band are bringing his Ages & Stages tour to Australia next year, with tickets going on sale this Friday.
Ages & Stages will mark the 83-year-old Sex Bomb singer’s first tour Down Under in eight years.
Jones has gifted his fans with more than six decades of award-winning music, from What’s New Pussycat and She’s a Lady to Delilah and It’s not Unusual.
As the singer enters his mid-eighties, it may be the last time Aussies get to enjoy the Welsh rock star on Australian soil.
Jones has had a legendary career, selling more than 100 million albums with 36 singles reaching the UK top 40 charts. His music traverses generational and genre boundaries, appealing to young and old, with inspirations from soul, R&B, pop and rock and roll.
“Absolutely blown away. Truly can’t believe you’re coming. It’s fabulous, just so happy,” one fan wrote on Instagram.
“Fabulous news for all your fans in Australia. You are simply the best singer and entertainer, with the most incredible voice,” another said.
The tour will cross major Australian cities and coastal and regional towns including Byron Bay, where Jones will headline the Bryon Bay Bluesfest for the second time. According to the Bluesfest director, Peter Noble, Jones personally requested to return to the iconic music festival.
