Jerry Seinfeld to tour Australia in 2024

The stand-up comedian has delighted fans by announcing he’s set to tour Australia for the first time in more than five years.

Jerry Seinfeld is bringing a new show to Australia in 2024.

One of the greatest stand-up comedians in history is set to tour Australia next year.

Jerry Seinfeld will perform in Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne in June 2024.

The funnyman, who last performed in Australia in 2017, said in a statement that he’s excited to bring his new show down under.

“I have loved Australia since my first tour there in 1998, and I cannot wait to come back to visit some of the greatest comedy fans in the world,” Seinfeld said.

Tickets will go on sale next week, with a Telstra Plus member pre-sale starting on Tuesday 14 November at 12noon (local time).

General public tickets will then go on sale on Friday 17 November from 12noon (local time) from www.tegdainty.com.

Seinfeld was last here in 2017.

Seinfeld’s career

Seinfeld has been performing stand-up for more than 40 years, revealing in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session that he chose to become a comedian because “it seemed much easier than work, and more fun than work”.

“It turned out to be much harder than work, and not easy at all,” he added. “But you still don’t have to ever really grow up, and that’s the best thing of all.”

In 1989 he teamed up with Larry David to create the sitcom, Seinfeld, which went on to become the most successful comedy series in the history of television, running for nine seasons.

In recent years he has won acclaim for his Netflix show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and for several comedy specials, Jerry Before Seinfeld and 23 Hours to Kill.

Seinfeld has also written and directed a yet to be released film called Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story.

The film, set in Michigan in 1963, is about two rival cereal companies racing to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever.

Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant and James Marsden are all set to appear in the film.
