P!nk fans can’t get enough of her Summer Carnival tour with more Aussie stadium shows added

Australia’s insatiable appetite for big pop gigs continues after epic Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles tours with P!nk now driving box office demand.

P!nk is shooting for another own box office record in Australia, adding more stadium concerts in Sydney and Melbourne to her Summer Carnival tour next year.

As Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles wind up record-breaking runs here with their massive outdoor extravaganzas, with thousands of tickets sold in the final days leading up to each show, demand for P!nk tickets is still at a peak two weeks after the shows went on sale.

The Trustfall superstar has upgraded to the bigger Accor Stadium for her third Sydney concert on March 18, where Sheeran and Styles both played to crowds of more than 80,000 at each gig.

The third concert at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium will be on March 12.

And it doesn’t appear demand is anywhere near slowing down for P!nk tickets with her Australian promoter Live Nation leaving room in her March schedule to add even more stadium-sized shows.

P!nk sold a mammoth 660,000 tickets on her Funhouse tour in 2009, another 650,000 for the Truth About Love run in 2013 and more than 500,000 for the Beautiful Trauma shows in 2018.

The added Sydney and Melbournes shows are the first third gigs in a capital city to be announced on the Summer Carnival world tour, confirming Australia as her biggest concert market per capita in the world.

Her ninth studio record Trustfall debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA charts on release, her seventh chart-topping album here over her 23-year recording career. It was the highest first-week sales for 2023.

There are lofty expectations of the Summer Carnival spectacular with P!nk recognised as a pioneer of the acrobatic pop performance, soaring through the air on cables and hanging upside down while nailing her vocals.

The What About Us high-flyer said her dream to sing from a “magic carpet” above the crowd during this tour was banned by her team.

“I wanted to do a magic carpet that was flown by drones, but they wouldn’t let me do it because they’re hackable and somebody could like, fly me away. Just the visual of that made me laugh for so long, like that’s how I get stolen,” she said.

The Live Nation pre-sale for the extra Sydney and Melbourne concerts starts on March 7. The general public on sale opens on March 8. For ticketing and on sale times, www.livenation.com.au
