Former Pussycat Doll: ‘We were made to be like anorexic aliens’

FORMER Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt has revealed she was left feeling “anorexic” by controlling record producers while in the chart topping band.

The 35-year-old American singer and dancer was part of the band fronted by Nicole Scherzinger between 2003 and 2010.

Reflecting on her time in the band, Wyatt says she and her band mates had their food monitored to ensure they didn’t gain weight.

“I was so conscious of my weight while in Pussycat Dolls,” she told The Mirror.

“Record producers constantly watched us to make sure we weren’t putting on weight, and we were made to be like anorexic aliens,” she explained.

Wyatt is so scarred by the experience that she fears her two-year-old daughter Willow will be influenced by the media to strive for a super skinny body herself.

“I saw two girls, who can’t have been older than nine, in gym wear running in the park the other day, and they were talking in detail about calories,” the former chart topper confessed.

Wyatt is now married to British model Max Rogers, 34, and the young family live in London.

Fellow Pussycat Doll star Nicole Scherzinger previously opened up about her eating disorder battle while in the band.

The star suffered from bulimia while in the band — leading to her singing abilities to come under threat.

“I had started losing my voice, I couldn’t sing at shows, and then I remember my manager finding me passed out on the floor in Malta or in the south of France,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2014, reflecting on her time in the band.

“I didn’t think anyone knew in my group or in my family because I hid it that well, I was so ashamed,” the since recovered singer continued.

“I knew it wasn’t normal or healthy because I was hurting myself through this cycle of disordered eating. It was my drug, my addiction. It’s an endless vicious cycle,” she said.
